Es hat endlich geklappt – mein zweiter Besuch bei Südbahnler. Bei meinem ersten Besuch war ich von der Größe und Fahrtmöglichkeiten auf diese Anlage so überwältigt, dass ich kaum brauchbare Videos von dieser Anlage gemacht hatte. Dieses Mal, hatte ich knapp zwei Tage, um die Dimension dieser Anlage zu verarbeiten und einige Szenen für euch einzufangen.
Ich werde immer mal wieder gefragt, warum ich Modellbahnvideos auf YouTube erstelle. Dies ist genau der Grund – Freundschaften zu knüpfen mit Gleichgesinnten und gegenseitig voneinander zu lernen!
Albrecht, baut an dieser Anlage, meist im Alleingang, inzwischen knapp 18 Jahre, (also seit Winter 2006/07) und seine Modellbahn hat mittlerweile eine Dimension erreicht die man normalerweise nur bei Clubanlagen zu sehen bekommt.
Auf der Anlage ist so viel Betrieb möglich was sofort begeistert. Ihr werdet einige Clips von seinem Kopfbahnhof sehen wo Züge am laufenden Band ein und ausfahren!
Schon das Thema Kopfbahnhof ist ein Hingucker – wer hat sowas schon auf seiner Anlage, der dazu noch im Automatikbetrieb, komplett mit Abfahrtansagen läuft.
Der Bau der Gleisanlage ist inzwischen so gut wie abgeschlossen, aber landschaftlich und Signaltechnisch gibt es noch einige Stellen, wo Albrecht am Bauen ist.
Hier einige Fakten zur Anlage. Ein kompletter Umlauf der Anlage erfasst eine Strecke von 180m, das wäre in Echt 15,5km – das muss man sich mal vorstellen! Dazu gehören vier Bahnhöfe, ein Haltepunkt und deutlich über 100 Weichen:
Der Großstadt-Kopfbahnhof „Rosna“, der kleinere Durchgangsbahnhof „Mühlhausen“, der Endbahnhof „Eschbronn“ der sich auf einer Nebenstrecke befindet und natürlich der neu-erbaute Vorortbahnhof „Rosna (Ost)“ der genau neben dem Containerterminal liegt. Und wäre das nicht genug, gibt es auch einen Rangierbahnhof, ein BW für Elloks mit Schiebebühne, ein BW mit Drescheibe und drei Abstellgruppen für Fern und Nahverkehr vor dem Kopfbahnhof.
Im „Untergrund“ gibt es vier Schattenbahnhöfen, für ca. 50 Züge die insgesamt 170m an Rollmaterial aufnehmen können! Die längsten Abstellgruppen können Züge von einer Länge bis zu 3,20m aufnehmen. Kürzere Abstellungen für Triebzüge des Nahverkehrs gibt es natürlich auch.

It finally worked - my second visit to Südbahnler. On my first visit, I was so overwhelmed by the size and operation on this system that I hardly made any usable videos. This time, I had just under two days to absorb the dimensions of this system and capture some “usable” scenes for you.
I am often asked why I create model railway videos on YouTube. This is exactly the reason - to make friends with like-minded people and to learn from each other!
Albrecht has been building this layout, mostly on his own, for almost 18 years now (since winter 2006/07) and his model railway has now reached a dimension that you normally only see on model railway club layouts.
So much activity is possible on the layout, which is immediately fascinating. You will see some clips from his terminal station where trains are constantly coming and going! The terminal station itself is an eye-catcher, which also runs in automatic mode, complete with departure announcements!
The construction of the track system is now almost complete, but in terms of landscape and signaling, there are still a few places where Albrecht is working on it.
Here are some facts about the layout. A complete circuit of his model railway covers a distance of 180m, which would be 15.5km in real life!!! This includes four stations, a stopping point and well over 100 switches:
The city terminal station "Rosna", the smaller through station "Mühlhausen", the terminus station "Eschbronn" which is on a branch line and of course the newly built suburban station "Rosna (East)" which is right next to the container terminal. And if that wasn't enough, there is also a marshalling yard, a depot for electric locomotives with a transfer table, a depot with a turntable and three siding groups for long-distance and commuter trains in front of the terminal station.
The underground boasts four shadow stations, for around 50 trains that can accommodate a total of 170m of rolling stock! The longest stabling groups can accommodate trains up to 3.20m long. Of course, there are also shorter stabling areas for local multiple units.
