These Potato Cakes or patties
These Potato Cakes or patties are great for a special occasion or anytime! This makes four servings using mashed potatoes and reheats fairly well in the microwave. Make some Pommes Byron today!
Ingredients:
2 giant russet potatoes (500 grams each)
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup shredded gruyere cheese (4 ounces or 110 grams)
1/2 stick butter (2 ounces or 57 grams)
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon coarse ground salt or 1/2 teaspoon table salt
1 Tablespoon of chopped chives or green onion tops
Mascarpone Cheese or Sour Cream or reduced cream
shreds of gruyere for the tops
You only need to broil for 1 or 2 minutes, keep your eyes on them!
