As a journalist, I traveled to India. We were on a train when it suddenly made a terrifying stop. We hurried down and saw a fat cow sitting on the tracks, blocking the train's path.
I asked my Indian guide why no one was moving the cow off the tracks to clear the way for the train. He said, "The cow is sacred, and no one can disturb it." I asked, "So what do we do?" He replied, "We have to wait until the cow decides to leave on its own."
I said, "You mean to tell me that a cow can stop the train for as long as it wants, and no one will do anything about it?" He said, "Yes, the cow is sacred." And I realized that in backward societies, even people and beliefs that appear sacred can sit on the tracks of societal progress, and no one dares to move them.

This story symbolizes the invisible barriers that hinder a society's progress. Barriers that, through superstitions and irrational beliefs, prevent movement toward a brighter future. Just as the societal train needs to be freed from these obstacles, people must find the courage to confront and challenge these unfounded beliefs to move forward and advance.
