This new call center style headset from Eaglend makes a pleasant change from my regular office headset, which works OK but is lightweight and cheaply made.
In the attractive box, aimed perhaps more at the home office than the commercial one, are the headset itself, USB adapter, a rather posh carry bag and a well written and easy to read user guide. Build quality seems fine with nothing looking likely to fail anytime soon.
The headset is black with the hard-wired 3.5mm audio cable bright red and easy to see on the desktop. The on-ear earcups and headband have memory foam padding and are fully adjustable. The non detachable microphone stalk and be rotated through 270° up and down and can be positioned as close to the mouth as needed and then folded up and out of the way when not. The USB adapter allows the headset to work from any USB port and adds an in-line control box giving volume up and down controls as well as headphone and microphone muting with an LED to confirm connection and mic status.
Sound quality is not usually of prime importance when designing call centre style headsets but this model is the exception with headphone sound quality that is more than adequate for home use for music and speech. The microphone too is better than I expected, not fantastic, but certainly above average for the price.
The real difference between this one and my old office headset lies in the build quality, looks and presentation with better audio an advantage but not so noticeable.
Priced at just $29.99 this new headset would be a fine addition to your home office or work desk.
