After the epic India vs Australia 2001 Test Series, often referred as the Greatest Test Series Ever, the action moved to the ODI series and Sachin Tendulkar was nearing the historic landmark of 10000 runs in ODI going into the 3rd ODI at the Nehru Stadium in Indore.
The stadium was jam-packed and all eyes were on Sachin when Shane Warne came into the attack.
Warne to Tendulkar on 9,999 runs and Sachin elegantly drives the ball down to long off for a single - perhaps the most historic single in ODI Cricket History to complete 10,000 ODI runs - the first man to do so in ODIs.
Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to score 10,000 runs in ODIs . Also, Sachin Tendulkar first player to reach 10,000-11,000-12,000-13,000-14,000-15,000, 16,000 and 17,000, 18,000 ODI runs.
Sachin Tendulkar scoring his 10000th ODI Run against Shane Warne was another great moment in the Sachin vs Warne rivalry.
Sachin made 139 in the match which is Sachin Tendulkar 28th ODI century and one of best Sachin Tendulkar innings vs Australia. India won the match by a huge margin of 118 runs with Sachin Man of the Match
Sachin Tendulkar completed his 10000 runs in ODI in 266 matches and 259 innings which is also a world record for the fastest 10000 runs in ODI Cricket till date. Tendulkar is also the youngest to score 10,000 runs in ODIs so far.
