The Yamaha Fascino was launched
The Yamaha Fascino was launched as a fashionable scooter back in 2015. We didn't understand what that meant but it became Yamaha's top selling scooter, we're told. More recently, Yamaha wrapped up their 110cc scooter lineup and focussed on the 125s where the Fascino seems to be the heart of the range. And about two years ago, Yamaha added a starter motor generator to the package. This means starting the Fascino makes no sound. But crucially, Yamaha also use the motor to produce torque to help the scooter accelerate as well as burn less petrol. Both of which make a small difference to how good the Fascino feels to ride. Yamaha's always managed to keep the Fascino under 99kg and this is a quick scooter. Which brings us to the design, which is very South East Asian in its swooping curves and now all of that chrome. Honest, Yamaha would do well do to also have a relatively normal looking scooter option too. The RayZRs look aggressive in a disjointed way and the Fascino's a better design than that but still not something everyone will like. In this FAQ series, we'll look deeper into the Fascino.
