In this video I am going to show you a method to start a good drawing that is probably the most used over time and it is for a reason, because it works! And it works very well to draw what is in front of us without errors, but it is also an excellent learning method for everyone.
Blocking, which is the method that you are going to be able to learn, is the most appropriate method to learn to calculate proportions, which is one of the most basic skills that must be developed to correctly learn the basics of drawing.
However, this skill is complicated to develop if we are not very applied in it, it requires a lot of discipline and above all to change our most instinctive way of drawing, that is to say that it is a bit counter-intuitive and that makes it a bit heavy to learn when beginning. However, the good news is that it is learned very quickly and that immediately the heaviest part is done practically automatically and allows us to move on to other more natural and intuitive techniques such as gesture drawing. The problem with starting from scratch from the gesture is that it does not allow us to learn the calculation of proportions as quickly and efficiently as the blocking, so I always recommend a learning period with this classic method.
