As the weather becomes bearable again, Tokyoites are out in droves enjoying fresh air and greenery, even in the middle of the modern metropolis. We’ve scoped out 3 of the newest rooftop parks in Shibuya for stunning views of Tokyo, and -- best of all -- two of them are free!
Each park has its own unique vibe. Shibuya Sky (now the tallest building in Shibuya) undoubtedly boasts the best view of them all, with a 360-degree panoramic view of Tokyo. Next, Shibuya Parco is a great free option, with more greenery and (like Shibuya Sky) a rooftop bar. Lastly, Miyashita Park is the best place for recreational activities and groups, with friends and families congregating to sprawl out on the grass, tackle the rock climbing wall, and enjoy the skateboard facilities. Along the way, Shizuka explores the depachika (food basement) of Tokyu FoodShow and meets up with actor Kyle Card for a cheeky picnic on the lawn (an essential part of any rooftop park hangout).
