How to connect to Contabo VPS -
This video will show you how to log into your Contabo Linux server.
To connect to your server you'll need the user, password and your IP address. All of which will be sent to you in your email once your account is setup by Contabo.

How do I connect to a VPS server?
You can connect to your Linux VPS via SSH. To use SSH, you need the user, such as root . You need a password for the user and your server's IP address.
You can then just type in : ssh root@ip-address . Then enter your password.
How do I access cPanel Contabo?
To log into Cpanel , go to ip-address:2083
To log into WHM , go to ip-address:2087
To log into Webmail, go to ip-address:2096
All the login details will be emailed to you.
How do I access remote desktop VPS?
With Contabo you can use SSH to access your server. Or, you can use VNC.
What is a Contabo server?
A conatbo server can either be a VPS, VDS or a dedicated server. Contabo is a German Web hosting provider, that provides affordable servers for all.
How is Contabo so cheap?
They probably use affordable hardware to achieve this cost.
Is Contabo fast?
There are no significant complaints about the speed of their servers. There is however a huge complaint regarding CPU steal between customers on the same VPS server environment.
What CPU does Contabo VPS use?
Contabo uses both Intel and AMD servers.
As soon as your account is created, just click here to restart the server because I found that before restarting the server, I wasn't able to log in. Just come here and restart your server.
Before we even go any further let's see how you can log into your server. I'm just going to copy the IP address and I'm on windows, so regardless of where you're following me on. Whether you're following on windows Mac or linux computer, you can log into your server and on terminal. You can use terminal on Linux or on Mac. With that you just open up terminal and you can log in, if you're on windows however you need to go to Google and search for git because this is the one you can use to set up your Contabo server. Search for git and you download git from git scm.
Let's click here on downloads and see you can get it for mac windows and Linux, but of course you want it for Windows. Just click there to download it . And then you're going to install it and as soon as you install it it's going to come with three things it's going to come with the git gui git cmd and git bash,
On windows we want to use Git Bash to set up our server. You can use git bash. Install git and you can use that to log in and set up your server ,and if you look at my virtualmin tutorial, that's what I used. You can find the playlist in my YouTube channel. If you want to run multiple WordPress websites using Virtualmin.
Let's log into our server, copy . And as I said, as soon as your account is set up they will send you all these details. They will send you the login credentials for your server and any other information that you need to log into your server you're going to get in your email, okay.
. I'm assuming you've already installed git bash to log into your server; Let me look for git bash. The one I want is gitbash. And I can log into my server. I'll just do SSH. Now for my server I've set up ssh key authentication, so I will not be able to log in but this is how you log in okay using the details that you've been sent they'll give you a root user to log in. So ssh and then the user is root at your ip address (ssh root@ip) .
Put in the ip address there and then you log in and you will be asked for your password. I won't be able to log in because my server has been set up to use ssh key and you can see how to set that up in the Virtualmin tutorial playlist. I have a video for that as well so that's how you log into your server. As soon as you enter this, it's going to ask you for your password and then you can log in. It will log you into your server and you can set it up.
