Zeus presents Shadow Of The
Zeus presents Shadow Of The Beast (un-emulated) for the FM Towns, a true classic from the golden era of FM Towns gaming which should not be forgotten alongside the software house and programmers that were involved in making this game.

Welcome to the Twelfth and punultimate part of my Beast marathon.
First of all let me start saying that it just wasn't possible for me to record this version myself because I don't own an FM Towns machine and I couldn't find an online version to play and trying to run it via PC emulation was just too much of a headache which left me two choices.
1) Not upload it and be asked endless times "Why didn't you upload the FM Towns version, your marathon is incomplete blah blah blah".
2) Upload footage recorded by someone else,...this is the step I took to complete the marathon.
So a huge thanks goes to youtuber "superdeadite" for allowing me to upload his longplay which was recorded on the original hardware, his channel is here if you fancy checking it out: .
I also had to use footage from another tuber who wished to remain nameless, this footage included the full intro and death screen which was not included in "superdeadite's" upload, so by combining the two I have managed to produce a full longplay video of this version, it's also unique in 1 way, it is the only video on my channel that the gameplay is not done by myself,...this will NOT become a habbit, if I could have done it myself I would have.
This version reminds me heavily of the TurboGrafx version with just milkier looking graphics, the soundtrack is identicle as well as the gameplay and even the animated death screen is the same (also shown in this upload), not sure if I like the explosions when you kill an enemy though, none of the others exploded in a small fall of fire :-/
It looks nice enough and seeing it run live on an FM Towns machine does produce smoother scrolling than this upload and that's all down to me having to rip the video and then reconvert it causing a slight loss of fps.
Next up and the final part of this marathon is a "let's play" video of the amiga version.
I hope all you FM Town fans enjoy this upload.
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
