In US news and current events today, Pilot Vince Reffet flew up to an altitude of nearly 6,000 feet above sea level on February 14, 2020. His suit, a carbon fiber wing powered by 4 mini jet engines, was created by engineers at the company Jetman Dubai. Previously, Jetman pilots have taken flight from elevated platforms, like a helicopter in flight. Reffet’s February 14 flight marked the first time a Jetman pilot has taken off directly from the ground Reffet began his 3-minute-long flight by hovering at approximately 16 feet above sea level.
