Sitaron Se Aage (Ahead of the Stars) is a 1958 Hindi Black-and-white Family film written and directed by Satyen Bose. The film starred Ashok Kumar, Vyjayanthimala in the lead with Johnny Walker, Raja Sulochana, Shammi, Jagdish Sethi, Manmohan Krishna and Leela Mishra forms an ensemble cast. The film was produced by K. Balaji. The film's score was composed by S. D. Burman with lyrics provided by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Editing was done by Shivaji Awdhut and was filmed by K. H. Kapadia
Storyline :-
Rajesh was the toast of the teratical world, the greatest direcor- actor the stage had eve known. He had already won every acclaim any artiste could hope for, but still Rajesh looked for further fields to conquer. His one fiery ambition was to produce "Sitaron Se Aagey" a brilliant stage-play, thought he must first find the girl who would be the ideal choice for the leading role. . Rajeshs casual visit to a cheap gambling den proved a boon. There he found Kanta, a beautiful young dancer. She was indeed the girl he had been looking for. With Knta, Rajesh knew "Sitaron Se Aagey" would be a sensation. . Rajesh learnt that Kanta had been entangled with Banwarilal, who ran the gambiing den, to dischange a large debt her uncle had run up to offset his gabling losses. Unless this was paid off, she could not leave the den. Rajesh quickly made the araangements, and Banwarilal was forced to take the money, much as he would have liked to have kept a lien on Kanta. . Rajeshs starring of Kanta made Rajni, the erstwhile heroine, seeth with jealousy. She yearned for revenge, and in this resolve she was supported by Mohan, Rajeshs unddrstudy. Together they planned to wreck the opeinign night of "Sitaron Se Aagey" With Rajesh out of the way, Mohan would get his role. With Rajesh out of the way, Kanta would be discarded. . And so it was as the play reached its climax. Rajesh met with a serious accident. Only it was no accident. it was ust as Rajni had planned. . The best laid plans do go wrong. Rajesh was out of the way, seemingly for good, but Kanta soared towards stardom. Rajesh came out of hospital, crippled and incapable of aaearing on the stage. His one desir ewas that Kanta should reach the great height he had foreseen. But Rajesh was no longer wanted. He was no longer a star ! No longer good enough even to direct!
