Crosswind landings during a storm
Crosswind landings during a storm at Düsseldorf with some interesting wobbly arrivals during western crosswinds. I returned to the airport in the evening when the Airbus a380 arrived and the crew decided to go around. The A380 of Emirates had to join a holding after the missed approach because right after the aborted landing a thunderstorm passed the airport and the airport was closed for about 15 minutes. After the closure the Airbus safely landed on runway 23L.
During daylight I was able to film the oldest Boeing 767-300 of Condor which performed a crosswind landing on runway 23L at Düsseldorf. The aircraft was delivered new to Condor in 1993 and operates for the german airline ever since. It should leave the fleet within the next two months because Condor will replace all their B767-300`s with modern Airbus A330Neos.
