🦊 In this GCSE Biology video, we look at chromosomes, genes, and alleles in eukaryotic cells. We look at diploid cells, which have 46 chromosomes or 23 pairs, and haploid cells, which contain 23 unpaired chromosomes. Diploid cells are typical body cells, while haploid cells, like sperm and ovum, are involved in reproduction. Genes are sections of DNA on chromosomes that act as instructions to make proteins and different versions of the same gene are called alleles.
