This classic early Dead tune, which gets us strumming in a basic bluegrass style pattern, features a descending bass line throughout the verse. This memorable part serves as the song's main hook and is a great technique builder for basic bluegrass rhythm. After covering the hook, we look at all of the lead riffs on the intro before going through all three sections of the song. Finally, I discuss how to go about soloing over the form.
