NATURAL AQUARIUMS Event with exhibition of aquariums, conferences and activities for families 15-16 April 2023 at the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa.
* Second part * MARCO LA VOLPE tells us the story of him and his fish-collecting journey in Uruguay together with the great Felipe Cantera. Not only Cichlids but also Loricarids, Characins and various little-known species.

The Certosa di Calci in Pisa houses the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa. With its exhibitions, its activities, its "behind the scenes". In its 400 years of existence, this museum has gathered rich collections and rare finds, ranging from mineralogy to zoology, from paleontology to the biodiversity of fish housed in the largest freshwater aquarium in Italy.
The Museum is a place for everyone! (Benjamin Franklin) "Tell me and I forget; show me and I remember; involve me and I learn."
In Tuscany, replacing wine with water could be blasphemous. This is what the Museum did by obtaining from the fresh cellars of the Certosa the largest freshwater aquarium in Italy inaugurated in 2008, expanded in 2016 and finished after the Covid period with over 60,000 liters of water.
The biodeiversity of fresh waters (Konrad Lorenz) "In front of the aquarium you can spend hours absorbed in reverie, like when you contemplate the flames of the fireplace or the rapids of a stream. And you learn many things during this contemplation."

La Certosa di Calci a Pisa ospita il Museo di Storia Naturale dell'Università di Pisa. Con le sue esposizioni,le sue attività,i suoi "dietro le quinte". Questo Museo ha raccolto nei suoi '400 anni di esistenza ricche collezioni e reperti rari,spaziando dalla mineralogia alla zoologia,dalla paleontologia alla biodiversità dei pesci ospitati nel più grande acquario d'acqua dolce d'Italia.
Il Museo è un luogo per tutti! (Benjamin Franklin) "Dimmi e io dimentico;mostrami e io ricordo;coinvolgimi e io imparo."
In Toscana sostituire il vino con l'acqua potrebbe essere una blasfemia. E' quello che ha fatto il Museo ricavando dalle fresche cantine della Certosa l'Acquario d'acqua dolce più grande d'Italia inaugurato nel 2008,ampliato nel 2016 e finito dopo il periodo Covid con oltre 60.000 litri d'acqua.
La biodiversità delle acque dolci( Konrad Lorenz)"Davanti all'acquario si può stare ore assorti in fantasticherie,come quando si contemplano le fiamme del caminetto o le rapide di un torrente. E si imparano molte cose durante questa contemplazione."
