Street foods are always very exciting to me and they are among the most popular foods that I try, that's why I decided to prepare a different report with my good friend Dr. Hooman Naimi and Mrs. We went to Sharjah to discover the secret to the delicious Bahraini Tikka Kebab in a kebab shop called Mohammad Ghuloum
Mohammad Ghiloum's shop has been here for more than thirty years and there is a bakery next to it which 45 years old and Mr. Ghuloum's father started. You can enjoy the famous Bahraini tikka kebab, grilled chicken, famous Ash e Sabzi (herb Ash) and fresh broad beans. When you enter, it has a very intimate and cozy atmosphere where they have a few chairs outside and you can order and eat outside or get take out.
The secret of the deliciousness of these kebabs is their marinade, which meat is chopped with local curd, lemon powder, black pepper, salt and onion. The interesting thing here is that they have a bakery where bread is freshly baked with a traditional oven.
After the Bahraini tikka kebab and the chicken kebabs are grilled on the charcoal grill, it was time to taste them. I was really excited for this moment. A Bahraini tikka kebab skewer, which here a skewer is called a khashabi, is served on the fresh hot bread with the grilled onions and tomatoes and a little fresh lemon juice, it turns into masterpiece and is absolutely juicy and delicious. You really must come here to Sharjah.
We also had Ash-e Sabzi. I had detailed reports about this Ash before, both in Shiraz with Mark Wiens at the famous Shams soup shop and in Dubai with Mark and Trevor. We tried this Shirazi soup that is eaten for breakfast and dinner. Ash Sabzi has mutton, lentils, peas, vegetables, onions and special spices that have a unique taste.
