Crossing the Alps on the
Crossing the Alps on the so-called "Joe Route" from Oberstdorf, Germany to Riva del Garda, Italy with the enduro mountain bike in June and July 2021. On 8 stages (the original route provides for 7 stages) and slight modification of the route (because parts were already known and therefore omitted) was taken pretty much every mountain that appeared on the right and left of the way.
Impressive landscapes and sometimes considerable physical exertion went hand in hand every day. With a total of one cracked bowden cable (which was also stupidly replaced shortly before the tour as a prevention) and a nail in the tire (which did not need to be patched because tubeless - just pull out and done - cool!) there were no other breakdowns.
While stages 4, 5 and 6 are the absolute highlight, the overall route with all the countless and sometimes tough climbs is necessary to appreciate the overall experience. After arriving, we stayed in Riva for another full day. The return trip was then by bike to Rovereto, Italy, by train to Kaufering, Germany, via Munich central station.

to our families, relatives, friends, acquaintances, who gave us (free) time, courage and incentive not only during the tour, but also during the preparation to experience this beautiful adventure.
