In January I travelled to Switzerland without flying. For this slow travel vlog I show the second leg of my journey from Amsterdam to Zurich on the new Nightjet sleeper train. The first half of this trip shares my experience on the Eurostar from London to Amsterdam.
There are other ways to get to Switzerland from London which I discuss in this video but due to travel restrictions at the time and my everlasting love for sleeper trains I chose to travel on this route.
A few years ago I quit flying for holidays and since then whenever I go away I travel by land or sea, mainly by train or ferry. I’m hoping that by showing how much more of an adventure it is to take the train rather than flying will inspire others to travel this way.
If you’re interested in learning more about slow or sustainable travel and seeing what other flight-free holidays look like I will be uploading more videos in the future which explore both.
