Toyota Corolla Stabilizer / Sway Bar Link Replacement

This video will show you how I replaced the front suspension's worn out stabilizer or sway bar links on a 1999 Toyota Corolla with over 200,000. After replacing the front and rear struts and took the car for a test ride, the front end noise was unbelievable! Rattling and clunking on the smallest of road bumps! When I replaced these links, the noise completely disappeared. When the dust boot splits, the grease inside the ball and socket joint to leak out and allows dirt and moisture to creep in ... which leads to rapid wear. For the Toyota Corolla, you'll need a 14mm box wrench, 4 mm hex socket and some pentrating oil. If the stabilizer bar link studs and nuts appear rusty, I recommend you wire brush them down and do a overnight soak with penetrating oil. If the link's center hex shaft appears rusty, make sure the 4 mm hex socket is seated all the way into the shaft; otherwise, when apply torque to remove the nut, the center shaft may slip, spin and strip the interior's contact points. If that happens, you'll have to cut the links off with a recriprocating saw or rotary cut off disc.
