Mountain Gorillas Mating in the Wild (RARE) - Filmed 4/28/22 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda

This week I trekked in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to view the endangered Mountain Gorilla in the wild. There are multiple family groups of habituated gorillas in the forest and the group we tracked was called Habinyanja. I captured this rare, raw footage of the dominant silverback male mating with one of the group females. Our park ranger told us it is a rare sight to see this as they usually retreat into thick forest for mating. An incredible experience, this was no more than 5 feet from where I was standing. - Craig
