Converting the mass of the electron to MeV/c^2.  m_e in MeVc^-2, electron mass in MeVc^-2.

In order to convert the mass of the electron into MeV/c^2, we start with a reminder of the equation for the energy equivalence of mass:  E=mc^2.  We also solve this equation for m to get m=E/c^2.

Next, we find the energy equivalence of the electron by multiplying by the speed of light squared.  We then convert the energy into MeV.

Finally, we state the mass as m=E/c^2 with the energy in MeV, so we obtain the electron mass in the units of MeV/c^2.
