In this Lissajous figures introduction, we start with a quick review of the unit circle given in parametric form. Then we start to modify the formulas to create Lissajous figures. First, we make the y-coordinate oscillate twice as fast, then five times as fast. Then we modify the oscillation of the x-coordinate to obtain a different flavor of Lissajous figure. In each case, we plot several points to determine the directionality of the parametric curves. Direction of Lissajous figures is obtained by plotting several points at small time increments.
