A simple pendulum consists of a small object made of a heavy metallic sphere, called the pendulum bob, suspended by a light inextensible thread from a fixed and rigid support. When displaced to one side and released, it begins to oscillate about its mean position. The time taken by the pendulum to complete one oscillation is called its time period. The maximum displacement of the pendulum from its mean position is called its amplitude.
The experiment in this video aims to investigate the effect of amplitude on the time period of a simple pendulum.
