This Satsang from 5th of January 1993 includes the following encounters:
BEVERLY: Experience of vibration, symphony of sound and soundless sound.
PAPAJI: Before the word is uttered it is a thought. Where does the thought rise from? From beyond. There you have to keep quiet. That is called silence, not when you don’t speak and thinking about something else. It will take it to the emptiness of the heart. From emptiness everything arises. Emptiness follows you. You will know all this is a dream. Freedom is always there, only you dreamed and you are still dreaming. Satsang is a place that wakes you up so that your dream leaves you and you are happy. Then the silence is always there. Whatever you can follow or understand, don’t touch it. Like this conversation, up to the last word I said. Then go alone if you want to find peace. Don’t hold the finger pointing to the moon, you have to reject my finger also and the one who is rejecting.

OM. The world looks like a theatre. I’m interested in the cast rather than being separated as an observer. Now I feel a heaviness attached with any action or thought originated with ‘I’ but at times I revert back to separation. Feeling a lion growing. Please help me find a balance in this transition.
PAPAJI: Insanity cannot roar. Lion is one who has no ‘I’ and roars. Sheeps go to slaughterhouse. ‘I’ is a sheep. When you wake up you have to roar.

DAVID: Same people say that a strong desire for liberation will take one to the goal.
PAPAJI: It is true. Satsang is a good boat. Avadhuta Gita reading before enlightenment gives you trouble. Don’t read any book. Open your own book, open the pages in the emptiness of your own heart. There’s nowhere to go but be here and now. In one second of time you are free. You need no effort.

DHYANBODHI: I came here to continue my journey. My mind is doubting this silence. From Catholic upbringing to becoming an atheist. PAPAJI: neither believe or disbelieve anything, who are you? Ask yourself ‘Who am I’? Stay in this moment for one second.
Dhyanbodhi comes up and hugs Papaji.

ANONYMOUS: Greek saying ‘Know Thyself’.
PAPAJI: Know your own Atman and you know everything. Know Thyself is a finger pointing, reading this you have not recognized yourself. Sit down quietly and see what it means. Find out what’s beyond the 3 states. That will never vanish.

This video ends abruptly as the tape ended while Papaji was still reading. Part 2 to follow.
