This was the unveiling of the Spinning Chandelier at 7 pm on  November 27 2019.  The Spinning Chandelier, designed by Rodney Graham, is located underneath the Granville Street Bridge on Beach Avenue.

Spinning Chandelier is a public-art component of Vancouver House, the upcoming 60-storey condo development designed by Bjarke Ingels.

The chandelier is a private-sector project paid for by Westbank Corp and cost a staggering $4.88 million dollars.

The 18th-century-style is made of stainless steel, LED lights and 600 polyurethane crystals by Walla Walla Foundry in Washington State. It weighs more than 3,400 kilograms and measures 7.8-by-4.3 metres

The Spinning Chandelier lights up, drops straight down to its lowest point, rotates for four minutes, slows down and stops and rises back into the bridge deck when the lights will go off.

The Spinning Chandelier will go through its routine of lighting up and spinning twice a day, likely at 12 noon and 9 pm.
