The DJI Neo drone is finally here! It’s packed with features such as 4k video, palm take off, AI subject tracking, gimbal and digital video stabilisation and automated flight patterns via QuickShots.
I bought the DJI Neo Fly More Combo Kit to make this DJI Neo review and have been very impressed with its capabilities, offering some of the best drone image quality at the low price of £169 or $199. It really is a bargain DJI drone!

As a self flying drone that follows you, it’s the first AI DJI drone and is an ideal budget friendly drone for beginners. It weighs just 135g, making it a light drone for travel and an excellent mini pocket drone with camera too.
It’s also a regulation friendly drone and a hand take off drone. As a drone with subject tracking is a brilliant selfie drone too.
The DJI Neo Fly More Combo Set comes with the DJI Neo drone, the DJI RC-N3 remote control, 2 extra intelligent flight batteries, each lasting a maximum of 18 minutes per flight, a two way charging hub, propellor guards, a gimbal protector, USB-C to USB-C charging cable, two spare propellers, four spare screws and a screwdriver.
There are four ways to control the DJI Neo. First is palm takeoff which uses AI subject tracking and automatic footage capture to follow you our complete a number of automated flight patterns and QuickShots. There is also a custom mode where you can choose between Direction Track, Helix and Boomerang.
Second is using Mobile App Control, via the DJI Fly App. You can also use the Palm Control flying modes, but can also use virtual joysticks on your phone's screen to control the DJI Neo. Thre are also voice commands to fly the DJI Neo.
The third way is using a traditional remote control connected to the DJI Fly App. The DJI RC-N3 remote control is included with the DJI Neo Fly More Combo Set but not when you buy the drone on its own.
You have QuickShot - Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, and Boomerang - as well as other intelligent flight modes such as FocusTrack which includes Spotlight, Point Of Interest (POI) and Active Track (DirectionTrack) and Cruise Control which enables the aircraft to fly at a constant speed automatically.
The fourth way is via the DJI goggles 3 and RC Motion 3 controller or FPV Remote Controller 3, for the ultimate immersive FPV drone flying experience
This budget friendly drone is seriously worth consideration, whether you’re looking for an entry level 4k drone or just want to add a subject tracking drone to your collection. It has some of the best drone image quality at this price point and
