(recommend lower volume) I honestly never saw the HTTYD franchise until recently & it's easily one of the best animated trilogies I've ever seen. The narrative, themes, characters, action, amazing world-building, and scores by John Powell (goat) made it such a comforting and enjoyable experience watching it.

I knew I couldn't top in rescoring John's work for The Hidden World and especially this ending between Hiccup and Toothless. But I thought of one track watching this moment where I felt hits emotionally similar ways and deep, and it was Bear McCreary's masterful track "Letting Go".

Both projects of HTTYD and GOW being within the same mythology made it more fitting musically (at least to me). Even as this track plays, I somewhat see how Atreus' somber and maturing rendition of his leitmotif could reflect Hiccup as he makes his challenging but morally right decision in giving dragons their freedom. Krato's motif is something I feel connects with might, power and camaderie of the dragons, tho it's not one approriate to fit Toothless' character.

It's just something fun I wanted to try and see if it hits the same way as the original scene and if you guys enjoyed, feel free to comment wassup. Hope y'all have a good one.
