Moraine Lake is a stunning glacially-fed lake located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Its turquoise waters, surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains and dense forests, create a breathtaking and picturesque landscape. The lake is famous for its vibrant color, which comes from the fine rock particles carried by glacial meltwater. It's a popular destination for hiking, canoeing, and photography, attracting visitors from around the world to witness its natural beauty.

Roads to Moraine Lake is closed. Unless you're staying at the Moraine Lake Lodge, the only way in is to walk, bike, or use the shuttle services. We made reservations a few weeks in advance before our trip in June 2023. The cost was $8/adult plus a $3 reservation fee (CAD-Canadian Dollars). We also purchased the Annual Discovery Park Pass $145 CAD. It gave us quick access into the national parks (Banff and Jasper), so no need to wait in long car lines. We zoomed right through on the highways.
