Life Update - Femoral Osteotomy Recovery, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Arthrofibrosis & Surgery

Hello! Welcome back to my
Hello! Welcome back to my channel (or a very big welcome if you're new here!) Today's video is a very relaxed sit down and chat with you, as I wanted to give you a bit of a 'Life Update.' I'm quite behind on my Weekly Vlogs at the moment, so I thought this was the best way to give you an up-to-date update!
Basically, if you haven't been watching for long, I had a Femoral Osteotomy in November 2019. The recovery from that has been far from easy and unfortunately I have developed complications as a result of the surgery and also Covid making it impossible to be seen in person by a doctor.
Recently, I was able to see a Knee Surgeon, who believes I developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in my knee following my original surgery. And because I wasn't able to get this diagnosed or treated because Covid had made it very difficult for my doctors to see me in person, I developed something called Arthrofibrosis.
Tomorrow (30th September 2021) I'm going back into hospital at UCLH to have surgery to my knee to try and remove the Arthrofibrosis and bring back some movement to my knee. Afterwards, I will be put on a knee bending machine, will receive physiotherapy and we will also use preventative treatments to try and manage my CRPS.
So there won't be any videos for a little while as I have the surgery and try to recover. I will get back to filming and editing as soon as I'm able to, but can't put a date on when that is likely to be I'm afraid. Do come and follow me on Instagram though, as that's where I'm likely to update first. I hope you'll stick around until I'm well enough to come back to YouTube again - hopefully it won't be too long!
