When I record my podcast episodes I usually have one if not two co-hosts in the studio with me. Of course that requires three pairs of headphones to monitor the mix going on. I use Sony MDR-7506 headphones for everyone and I love them. They are awesome recording studio headphones.

When I first started podcasting I did not have the Behringer HA4700 Headphone Amplifier. Due to a very tight budget I juts used two headphone splitters right out of the mixer headphone jack. I made split to my three pairs of headphones, but we all had to listen at the same sound level. Now, you can certainly do it this way and you certainly don't need this piece of equipment.

However, if you get larger and expand you may want to consider the Behringer HA4700. I now have the HA4700 in my podcast studio and I am loving it. It allows me to send a different volume levels to each pair of headphones. It is a 4-channel, so I can have up to 4 pairs of headphones that can all be set to a different listening level.

And you can adjust the bass, treble, and balance separate for each pair of headphones, which makes for a very quality sound. There is a master volume button that you could turn everyone's volume up or down with if needed.

You can also run the headphones out the front on each bank or out the back. The way my podcast studio is set up I run my headphones out the front to where I sit and the other two out the back to my co-hosts. I have the Behringer HA4700 in my frame rack right above my Behringer MDX4600 Compressor/Limiter/Gate and it fits nicely.

So, if you want to ramp things up a bit with your podcast studio then I strongly suggest the Behringer HA4700 Headphone Amplifier and I don't think you will be disappointed.
