Neanderthal Ancestry in Africans

The existence of neanderthal ancestry in Africans is of interest in part in it self but also methodological, as in determining Neandethal ancestry in Eurasian – out of Africa populations, as Africans are used as a baseline where no neanderthal ancestry are assumed. This paper presents a novel method for detecting Neanderthal ancestry in modern humans that does not require an unadmixed reference human panel.
