Taken from the first episode of the second series of The Bob Monkhouse Show, originally broadcast on Monday, 7th January, 1985. And who was the guest entrusted with opening the run? We don't know. Well, we do: it's Murray Langston, but in his guise as the mysterious Unknown Comic. First he treats us to a bit of his stage act, and then he joins Bob for a nice little chat.

Of course, once the bag comes off, regulars of this channel will instantly recognise Murray as the technical guy from EMU-TV, Rod Hull's post-Pink-Windmill Canadian reboot of Emu's Broadcasting Company from 1989. In that sense, it's a bit of a pity that he essentially stays in character mode throughout this clip. Not that his quickfire gags ever fall flat, but I'd have loved to have heard something from the real Murray to get to know him a little better. Nevertheless, he makes for a very entertaining 13 minutes of television.
