Welcome to In a Minute, a series of YouTube shorts that cover the history of trains, planes and automobiles in 60 seconds or less.
For the second episode, we discuss the BAe 146, very much the last hurrah of the British commercial aircraft industry, as it created one of the finest short-takeoff and landing airliners ever designed, but sadly wouldn't make the profits envisaged due to a leasing arrangement to small carriers that meant they could operate the airliner without paying the market price, one of several reasons as to its eventual withdrawal from sales in 2001.
