Hindi Project. 𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰:
Fine, long, filaments or continuous threads are acquired for the animals and plants. There are 2 types of fibre. They are – Plant fibre and Animal fibre.
𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰:
𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗹:
Silk and woollen are the usual fibres obtained from animals. Silk is obtained from the silkworms whilst, wool is obtained from the goat, sheep and yak. Therefore, wool and silk are animal fibres.
Animal fibre – Hair of alpaca, llama and camel are handled and processed to produce the wool. Generally, in India, sheep are nurtured and reared for getting the wool. The hair of the sheep is shaved off from the body, cleansed, dried, sorted, coloured, gyrated and woven to get the wool.
Sources of wool – Wool is acquired from yak (Ladakh and Tibet), Angora goat, sheep, goat, camel, Alpaca etc
𝗦𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰:
Synthetic fiber or synthetic fibre are fibers made by humans through chemical synthesis, as opposed to natural fibers that are directly derived from living organisms. They are the result of extensive research by scientists to improve upon naturally occurring animal and plant fibers.
𝗡𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗻:
Nylon is a silk-like thermoplastic, generally made from petroleum, that can be melt-processed into fibers, films, or shapes.
𝗖𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻:
Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective case, around the seeds of the cotton plants of the genus Gossypium in the mallow family Malvaceae. The fiber is almost pure cellulose. Under natural conditions, the cotton bolls will increase the dispersal of the seeds.
