GOPRO Protune Color correction comparison
GOPRO Protune Color correction comparison using Speedgrade adn native Cineform! Footage shot in 2.7K mode 29.97 FPS, with RAW WB and PROTUNE ON!. Clip imported into Cineform applying PROTUNE PRESET with White Balance set to natural gray. Same untreated footage imported into Premiere. While left alone the footage is very pale and has very dull look, So next step was importing the color corrected footage into Speedgrade and matching the look to from the Cineform Studio corrected footage the the one right from the camera and creating Lumestri preset later on to be used in Premiere PRO CC. The last step is to apply Lumestri effect loading the preset created in Speedgrade and applying to untreated footage. The color graded footage look better hundred times better than in the original form and even better than from Cineform. Also once this is done, no need to recreate and only apply the filter to any other footage if the scene is the same.. The actual workflow is faster than typing this message!! To color match you really only need one frame.
