OET Listening part A can be tricky and challenging for many students preparing to write OET exam. In this interactive class, we will discuss the tricks and strategies that one can apply to achieve the required band score.  I will advise that you do not rush to practice. Before you start using practice materials, try to familiarise yourself with listening and understand what it entails. Try the following before starting to practice from the listening materials
First, Listen to conversations between a patient and a doctor/nurse on YouTube as much as possible. This will also help to understand listening part A.
Next, listen to the ABC health news, Health Professional Radio and MJA podcast (toughest Australian accent). Below are their links:
1. ABC Health news- https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/...
2. Health Professional Radio- @hpradio
3. MJA podcast- https://www.mja.com.au/podcasts

Please note that OET loves to repeat topics in the Listening and Reading sections. These topics usually matches the health week.
Here is the link to the health week: https://www.healthline.com/health/dir...
Some of the repeated topics for listening in the OET include:
DM, Asthma, Rheumatoid arthritis, COPD, arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, scabies, psoriasis, scabies, impetigo, chicken pox, food allergy, coeliac disease, stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, ADHD, pain, palliative care, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, migraine, venous ulcer, STD etc.

After a few weeks following the above, start practicing with the following guidelines-
Part A -
Aim to score at least 20 out of 24 in the listening part A. Concentrate, focus and never think twice when you miss an answer and keep moving ahead. To identify your answer, mark keywords before and after the blanks.
Part B & C -
Read the questions and options and mark keywords along with the prediction of an answer. Please listen to the conversation in its entirety. Sometimes the answer might be at the beginning and sometimes at the end. Hence, pay attention. Do not forget to try the exclusion method here.
