1968 Porsche 912 polo red survivor

Intro video to this beautiful 1968 Porsche 912 that I have been working on for the last year or so. This car is an original survivor condition car, it took a long tome to polish it up, scrub the underside, replace the cosmetically worn parts with originals, and finally mechanically sort the car. Original paint, matching numbers, restored/rebuilt/improved engine, original interior with a perfect dash, no rust ever. Originally owned by a doctor in Bay Area California it still wears its original black & yellow license plates. Not restored it has been preserved with as many original parts as possible - you may see some areas where the paint is rubbed through but for a 53 years old original car I think it looks just fine, in fact - better with age. Any car can be restored but they are only original once. If you have a 1968 Porsche 912 then pay attention to this car's details as it is correct!

You will notice that this car has its original California emissions equipment still installed and in working condition. In 1968 all cars sold in USA had to meet new regulation for harmful HC and CO emissions, Porsche added a roots style miniature supercharger to inject air into the exhaust and thus burning off the extra hydrocarbons made by unburnt fuel, trivia fact GM supplied some of the parts! This setup was often removed by most 912 owners as time went on, we took the frame of mind that this was a historical time for cars and the very first attempt at solving pollution. For the 1969 Porsche 912 it was found that teflon coated intake manifolds prevented fuel from beading up on the intake walls, which creating droplets of fuel that would not burn completely - what made HC These new manifolds made the engine run clean enough the pump system was no longer required.
