Ingredients for marinating chicken:
- 700 g chicken, cut into 2-3 inch pieces
(I used boneless with a few ~150 g bone pieces)
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 3/4 inch ginger and 5 garlic cloves, crushed
- salt, to taste (I used around 1 tsp)
Ingredients for chicken jalfrezi curry:
- 1 1/2 tbsp oil
- 1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 3 red chillies
- 3 medium onions, sliced thinly
- salt, as needed (I used another 1 tsp)
- 2 capsicums, sliced thinly
- 3/4 inch ginger and 5 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) tomato puree (I used Dabur)
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 inch ginger, cut into very small pieces
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1/4 cup coriander, chopped
NOTE:
If you want to make Boneless Chicken Jalfrezi, only use 500 g boneless chicken. You can cut them into thin stripes and cook them for lesser time - about 10 to 15 minutes. It should cut easily with a blunt spoon when done.
