Nyeri National Polytechnic was closed indefinitely Monday following hours of riots by students who were demanding the removal of their principal.
The students of the institution located in Nyeri Town engaged police in running battles in the leafy suburbs of Ring Road. The riots were preceded by three days of protests and boycott of classes as the learners demanded that their school head Anne Mwangi steps down with immediate effect.
