How to change your Engine Coolant (anti-freeze) in a 2012-2015 Honda Civic (9th generation Civic 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015). NOTE: this is for replacing the coolant in your Civic not flushing it. For older models a full flush may be beneficial. My fluid was really clean and I just wanted to replace it as I have reached 100k earlier than a lot of people. I will post a video on how to do a complete flush and remove and clean the coolant reservoir in a future video.

This is a 2014 Honda Civic EX Sedan. Your Coolant (anti-freeze) Replacement will be very similar. This will save you a lot of money and only takes about a half hour to replace yourself. I am using Prestone 50/50 pre-dilluted anti-freeze $8.44 a gallon from Walmart. You can buy the non-diluted and mix it with equal part distilled water only. Of course Honda Recommends their own brand of Anti-freeze which you can get from the deal or on Amazon.

Refer to the manuals below to see what Honda recommends for your 9th generation Civic and decide what you feel comfortable buying.

Regardless of which coolant you choose, be sure to have at least 1.5 gallons available before you start so that you can have enough to replace what you have taken out and some extra incase of error.

CAUTION: Anti-freeze/Coolant is toxic to people and especially children and animals. Take care to protect yourself with gloves and eye protection. Clean up any spills immediately and take care to dispose of the coolant properly at a local automotive shop or service station. Autozone is great for this.
