The Breasts and the Hymen: two powerful anatomical and symbolic body parts are the subjects of this poet's powerful exploration the in-between of the past and the future. The twelve collections published by poet Sharon Olds include Satan Says (1980), The Dead and The Living (1984), The Wellspring (1996), and Stag's Leap (2013), which won both the Pulitzer and T.S. Eliot prizes. Olds was New York State Poet Laureate from 1998-2000 and is currently a professor at New York University.
