Join nationally recognized education researcher, Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings and PBS Wisconsin to learn about the four factors that have led to the  educational disparities that exist between Black and White students in the U.S.. Dr. Ladson-Billings will also share her vision for culturally relevant teaching in a post-COVID-19 world.

Dr. Ladson-Billings is best known for her  theoretical work on Culturally Relevant Pedagogy and has been dedicated to supporting equitable classrooms and Black student achievement for 30 years. She is the former Kellner Family Distinguished Professor of Urban Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and faculty affiliate in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Ladson-Billings has authored several critically acclaimed books including, The Dreamkeepers: Successful Teachers of African American Children and Crossing Over to Canaan: The Journey of New Teachers in Diverse Classrooms and numerous journal articles and book chapters.
