At question period in the House of Commons on Wednesday, Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre had a laugh while debating Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on inflation.
While talking about a recent Trudeau interview, Poilievre quoted the prime minister as saying "inflation goes up exactly the same amount" as money spent. "Did he also realize that budgets don’t balance themselves?” Poilievre quipped.
While responding to the question, Trudeau named a number of programs his government has brought in to help Canadians. “But he [Poilievre] stands against it with some made-up excuse against inflation,” Trudeau retorted.
“He calls his own words a made-up excuse, Mr. Speaker,” Poilievre said while laughing.
