Keeping Chatsworth Current with the 12th Duke of Devonshire

As part of our look back at Sotheby's 10-year collaboration with Chatsworth for our annual Beyond Limits selling exhibition, we've pulled this interview with Peregrine Cavendish, the 12th Duke of Devonshire, from our archives. When he became Duke he inherited, amongst other treasures, the astounding Baroque Palace in Derbyshire that his ancestors began building in 1687. Shortly thereafter he orchestrated the biggest facelift the palace had seen since the 1830s.
