The drivers of the vehicle
The drivers of the vehicle which carries goods having hazardous/dangerous nature as per Table ||| of Rule 137 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules,1989, must have a special endorsement required on their license as per section 14(2)(a) of Motor Vehicle Act ,1988.This endorsement is to ensure that only properly trained and skilled drivers are handling such vehicles carrying Dangerous and Hazardous goods.License validity restricted to 3 years from endorsement. This endorsement is based on a course as per the syllabus prescribed in Rule 9 of Central Motor Vehicles.
Or in simpler words,to drive a hazardous goods vehicle you need to have a hazardous license in addition.In order to get a hazardous license you need to attend a three day training class.Government has prescribed a syllabus for the training programme across the state of Kerala.
The training sessions include both theory and practical class as well.You will be taught about hazardous goods,fire fighting, fire fighting equipments,defensive driving,fire extinguisher,road safety and so on in detail.On the last day you have to attend and pass an exam.And you will get a course completion certificate form the Institute.
