PentOS OI™ Sponge, is made of cancellous and demineralized bone, it is available as blocks.
What makes this a good option to use, is when you don't have enough bone for a recipient site for a block. This sponge has been soaking here for a couple hours, just to show that even in that time, it remains a sponge and it doesn't become mushy or distorted. So, it's perfect if you were placing it against something that you didn't have that recipient site again. It will mold to whatever shape it's going into.
You can trim them as necessary. With a super sharp pair of scissors, you can easily cut it in half. You can also place a screw through it, and it will hold the screw.
The best scenario that we've seen the PentOS OI Sponge used is in a site where there's missing laterals and there's a big valley of bone missing. This is nice because you will build out, so you get the space maintaining. You will still need to use C-Blast, a putty, or Raptos, a particulate, to mortar around it. And also cover it with a membrane or an extracellular matrix like Neomem or Neomem ECM.
