In 2019, Thailand exported nearly half a million cars worth over $9 billion. They are the 17th largest automotive exporter in the world. The third largest in Asia, and the biggest in Southeast Asia. Yet the country's success in building and exporting cars and car parts has largely gone under the radar. And that is for a specific reason.
