This NBC special television movie constitutes Loretta Young's final appearance on film, culminating a seventy-two year career in Hollywood movies and on television.

Lady In A Corner features Miss Young playing the part of Grace Guthrie, a successful and seasoned fashion magazine publisher who fights a hostile takeover from a sleazy tabloid tycoon. Problem is, Grace doesn't realize one of her closest advisers is on the media mogul's payroll, and is actively trying to force her into selling out her publishing empire.

The cast includes; Brian Keith, Roscoe Lee Browne, Lindsay Frost, Christopher Neame and Bruce Davison as Grace’s son, Bill Guthrie.

Brian Keith (David Henderson) was an American film, television and stage actor who in his six-decade-long career gained recognition for his work in movies such as the Disney family film The Parent Trap (1961), the comedy The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming (1966), and the adventure saga The Wind and the Lion (1975), in which he portrayed President Theodore Roosevelt.

On television two of his best-known roles were those of bachelor-uncle-turned-reluctant-parent Bill Davis in the 1960s sitcom Family Affair, and a tough retired judge in the 1980s light hearted crime drama, Hardcastle and McCormick. He also starred in The Brian Keith Show, which aired on NBC from 1972–74, where he portrayed a pediatrician who operated a free clinic on Oahu, and in the CBS comedy series Heartland.

During the latter part of his life, Keith suffered from emphysema and lung cancer, despite having quit smoking ten years earlier. On June 24, 1997, he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his home in Malibu, California.

Roscoe Lee Browne was an American actor and director known for his rich voice and dignified bearing. He resisted playing stereotypically black roles, instead performing in several productions with New York City's Shakespeare Festival Theater, Leland Hayward's satirical NBC series That Was the Week That Was, and a poetry performance tour of the United States in addition to his work in television and film.

In 1976, Browne was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Single Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Comedy or Drama Series for his work on ABC's Barney Miller. In 1986, he won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Comedy Series for his work on NBC's The Cosby Show. In 1992, he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance as "Holloway" in August Wilson's Two Trains Running.

Browne died of stomach cancer in Los Angeles on April 11, 2007, aged 84. He never married and had no children.

Lindsay Frost is best known for playing the role of Betsy Stewart Andropoulos on the daytime soap opera As the World Turns from 1984 to 1988, a role which was previously played by actress Meg Ryan. She appeared on Crossing Jordan in the recurring role of Maggie from 2001 to 2006. In recent years she has also guest starred in a number of series including Lost, Boston Legal, Shark, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, and Frasier.

Frost is currently (2018) a fine artist represented by The Art of the Game Galleries in Los Angeles.

Bruce Davison is an American actor and director of television, film, and theatre. He is well known for his starring role in the cult horror film Willard (1971), as well as his Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning performance in Longtime Companion (1989).

He also was featured prominently in the X-Men film franchise – through X-Men (2000) and X2 (2003) – as antagonist Senator Robert Kelly. More recently, Davison appeared in Fred Schepisi's Words and Pictures (2013), had a recurring role on The Fosters (2015–2016), and shares the screen with Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick in Get a Job (2016).
