How to record helmet intercom on your motovlog videos - hear both sides of the conversation!

Ever want to record the conversation or other audio happening inside your helmet? Well this video is the complete guide to doing just that - from start to finish, complete with test ride! It is assumed that (A) you know how to install a standard helmet intercom system in your helmet, and (B) your helmet speakers are connected to the communication module (Cardo, Sena, etc) using a 3.5 mm TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) plug. This video does not cover those aspects.

I had an idea how this was to be done years ago, and my solution involved recording the intercom audio on a small digital recorder in my jacket pocket. That solution is a problem if you stop-start videos as I tend to do. I knew the answer involved a direct connection but I was not sufficiently incentivized to pursue this further until now. That said, it was after I watched a video by Teapot One in the UK on the subject that I decided to finish what I started. So credit to Bruce / Teapot One for the guidance in his vid.
